Net to Net Technologies and Net Insight have entered into a joint marketing and co-operative development agreement to promote and enhance the simplicity and cost effectiveness of IP end to end solutions, capable of carrying real time demanding services like streaming video and digital tv.
IP is becoming ubiquitous in the network today, it offers enormous benefits to telecoms and datacoms network providers in terms of simplicity, ease of operation and cost of deployment. This agreement between Net to Net Technologies and Net Insight represents a response to this market trend.
"ATM lost the race for the desktop in corporate networks because it was complex and expensive to install compared to Ethernet IP based solutions, we expect it to lose the race for the access market for the same reasons" says Lesley Hansen Director of European Marketing with Net to Net Technologies. IP DSL in the access offers a simple to maintain and deploy solution speeding up the deployment of DSL internet access and moving service providers towards profitable internet solutions. The network should be a utility for the service provider, easy to use, easy to deploy, simple to maintain, then the provider can concentrate on the value added services that are going to create the competitive advantage, ATM does not provide this. The same argument applies in the core network. That is the main reason why interest in DTM circuit switching technology is increasing with such remarkable speed. DTM networks are capable of carrying IP, traditional telephony and video with 100% guaranteed throughput and consistent delay, ready for realtime services.
