Stockholm, Sweden – June 18, 2001 – Allied Telesyn intensifies the partnership with Net Insight AB (SX:NETI B), a leading provider of new-generation real-time broadband infrastructure technology, and places an order for multi-service switches for the build-out of four pilot networks.
“This is a significant achievement in our OEM partnership with Allied Telesyn. Their strong commitment as a Net Insight partner and their marketing effort is now turning into business,” says Bengt Olsson, CEO, Net Insight.
The pilots will be installed in four different countries across Europe, primarily targeting Multi-Tenant Units (MTUs) such as multi-company office buildings and business parks.
“There is an increasing demand for a flexible networking solution that can deliver multiple services, such as packet and PDH-based services, and therefore meet a variety of user needs. The DTM technology offers intelligent service provisioning together with guaranteed quality of service for all users. This makes it ideal for the MTU market, says Paul Easto, Senior VP Telecoms Business Development, Allied Telesyn.”
The DTM platform enables secure transport of data and video over IP between a large number of Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) with maintained 100 percent Quality of Service. It also integrates PDH services, such as telephony, into the same infrastructure. Service provisioning can be flexibly performed during operation, making the solution very well adapted for implementation in a quick-changing business environment. Operators can grant bandwidth and set up new services on-demand, providing end users with networking services that closely follow their changing needs.
