ZDF, one of Germany´s largest broadcasters has during October deployed a media network based on Net Insight´s platform Nimbra. The network transports video, data, voice and IP services between the cities of Mainz, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Munich.
ZDF has chosen to build the network with Net Insight´s products since they fully comply with the requirements for service migration, quality of service, flexibility and manageability. Additionally, the network will be easy to scale when expanding the network according to future plans.
ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) is the national public broadcaster in Germany with headquarters in Mainz. ZDF has 16 regional offices in Germany as well as 18 international offices. ZDF is responsible for the public program distribution for channel 2 in Germany and has approximately 3,600 employees.
