The alarm pins are flexibly configured from the web interface of the Nimbra element manager. Output alarm conditions may be assigned independently with full flexibility to all of the 16 available pins.
- Control of external devices such as 1+1 changeover units for protection switching
- Alarm outputs to visual and audible alarm subsystems and other alarm collection systems
- Collection of environmental alarms and alarms from third party systems (future release)
- Equipped with 10/100 Ethernet, RS232/422 serial, and USB ports
- Full network management access to the active node control module
Each pin may be configured to be triggered either by a single alarm condition or by at least one alarm in a defined group of alarm conditions. Alarm conditions are selected from drop-down menus of alarm cause, alarm type and alarm severity. Alarm objects such as a specific service or optical interface may also be defined.
