Stockholm-based TeleCyber is a Multimedia Service Provider (MSP). Through their broadband network they offer low cost digital services to households, businesses and property owners. The services offered include free telephony (within their own network), Internet access, software rental, Video-on-Demand and broadcast television. The services will be delivered over a network where the communication speed is 3 000 times faster that of traditional modem connections, which requires high capacity and quality in the network. With the help of Net Insight´s DTM technology and switches in their network, TeleCyber will be able to guarantee a 100% quality of service. For the end-user this means that the video streaming will not flicker, sound will be of CD quality and phone calls will not suffer interruption.

One of the advantages with DTM, compared to other technologies, is that traffic can be separated for different users. This means that the customer always gets a guaranteed bandwidth and quality regardless of the number of users on-line at the same time. This was the one of the reasons why TeleCyber chose DTM technology as the platform for their network, in preference to Gigabit Ethernet, SDH or ATM.

For Net Insight, the agreement with TeleCyber means being a part of the important market for metropolitan and local area networks, a market that is expected to grow rapidly during the next few years. The number of connections in Sweden alone is currently estimated to be somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000. By the year 2000, it is estimated that the number of connections will have risen to between 50 000 and 80 000.
