ETS Multicast is a point-to-multipoint Ethernet distribution service for the Nimbra platform, developed to meet the demands of streaming media in a data communication environment. ETS multicast provides guaranteed bandwidth, low and consistent delay and jitter - characteristics essential for the distribution of real-time critical content such as IPTV and near Video-on-Demand.
Native Video Multicast is a point-to-multipoint SDI or ASI/DVB MPEG-2 distribution service for the Nimbra platform. Native VIdeo multicast guarantees bandwidth as well as low and consistent delay and jitter for high quality SDI and ASI streams to all recipients.
The TDM Multicast applications allows for point-to-multipoint distribution of payloads carried by OC-3/STM-1 (STS-3c/VC-4 or 3 x STS-1/VC-3) and T1/E1 respectivelly. This feature simplifies for instance provisioning of OC-3/STM-1 framed CATV services, or T1/E1 framed broadcast radio services. The provisioning process is very simple. Just provide a list of receiving ends and the Nimbra network handles the rest. The network will build a minimum spanning multicast tree to all receivers.
