The Nimbra 130 is configurable as either an encoder or a decoder making this solution extremely flexible in the field. In encoder mode, it offers HD or SD-SDI input and a video monitoring port for the uncompressed video feed. In decoder mode, Nimbra 130 presents the decoded video feed on two ports and offers a reference SDI input port for synchronization.
On the network side, Nimbra 130 presents a 100/1000 Mbps electrical RJ45 IP feed with optional optical SFP presentation for remote locations. There is also a hardware option to have the network interface presented as an ASI transport stream feed. Typically this is connected to an Ethernet or ASI access port of a Nimbra 300/One/600 series multiservice switch.
Nimbra 130 is transparent to vertical ancillary data and embedded audio. It allows you to choose which audio channels to forward in the compressed signal.
Nimbra Vision presents status and alarms from Nimbra 130 and provides quick access to the Nimbra 130 Element Manager for user-friendly configuration. It also provides a standard SNMP interface for integration in other management systems.
