The 2 x OC-12/STM-4 Module’s two independent ports allow efficient ring termination or dual uplinks from a Nimbra 340. When installed in a Nimbra One Edge Switch, the Module supports switching for as many as seven bidirectional rings.
The Module’s two Small Form-factor Pluggable ports (SFP) can be fitted with various optical modules for different media. It is an important component in multiservice networks that aggregate and distribute Ethernet, MPEG-2, uncompressed SDI video, and PDH traffic. This Module is often used with the OC-48/STM-16 and OC-3/STM-1 Trunk Modules in Nimbra 340, Nimbra One systems to create very flexible, cost-effective multi-service networks.
